Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective April 1, 2020.

1. Organizational Changes

(1) Changes in the area of business in North America

Aims

• In order to enhance efficiency, reorganize the project structure for Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc. (MTMUS), a joint venture company to produce cars in the U.S., as operations involving factory construction, production preparations and promotion towards establishment of business structure are transferred to the U.S.

Details of changes

• Abolish US Production Preparation Office after transferring its operations to Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) and MTMUS and have Corporate Planning & Development Division, Hiroshima Plant and other departments provide support.

(2) Changes in human resources

Aims

• Clearly distinguish the planning strategy functions from operational functions within the sector to improve efficiency and ability to respond to complex issues. By doing so, move forward with improvements toward employee service and business operations efficiency in order to restructure the HR system and reform the organizational climate to where each employee can demonstrate their full capability.

Details of changes

• In line with the above changes, change the status of the organization from Human Resources Office to Human Resources Division.
• Newly establish the HR Planning & Labor Relations Department, the People Development Department and the HR Services Department
